These terms govern your use of Current ("the App") and currentfishing.com ("the Website"), a fishing conditions service developed by Terence James Smith. By using the App or Website, you agree to these terms.
Current provides fishing conditions including weather forecasts, river flow data, hatch calendars, tide predictions, and AI-generated fishing intelligence. The service offers both a free tier with limited access and a paid subscription (Current Pro) with full access. An optional free account (Sign in with Apple, Continue with Google, or email and password) enables sync of trip logs, favorites, and preferences between your devices and currentfishing.com.
Subscriptions purchased through the iOS App are auto-renewable and managed by Apple. Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase. Your subscription automatically renews unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage and cancel your subscription in your device's Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions at any time.
Free trial: 7 days. At the end of the free trial, your subscription automatically begins and payment is charged to your Apple ID. Any unused portion of the free trial is forfeited upon purchase of a subscription.
Subscriptions may also be purchased through currentfishing.com, where they are processed by Stripe and managed via RevenueCat. A Current Pro subscription purchased on any platform is recognized across both the iOS App and currentfishing.com when you are signed in.
From time to time, partner discount codes (such as those distributed by recommended creators or fly shops) may be made available. Codes for App Store-managed discounts are redeemed through Apple's standard offer code system; codes for web subscriptions are redeemed at currentfishing.com. Partner codes are subject to availability, expiration, and per-code redemption limits set by us.
The free version of Current provides access to a curated selection of sample fishing locations. All other features, including full location access, AI-generated fishing guides, fly shop reports, trip planning, and unlimited trip logging, require a Current Pro subscription.
For subscriptions purchased through the iOS App, all purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests must be submitted through Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to request a refund.
For subscriptions purchased through currentfishing.com, please contact us at support@currentfishing.com to request a refund.
You may optionally create an account by signing in with Apple, Google, or by creating an email and password account. Account creation is not required to use the App's core features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for any activity that occurs under it.
You may delete your account and all associated cloud data at any time using the Delete Account option in Settings within the App. This permanently removes your account record, trip logs, favorites, preferences, uploaded photos, and subscription tracking data. You may also contact support@currentfishing.com if you need assistance with deletion. Note that deleting your Current account does not automatically cancel an active App Store subscription — to cancel, use Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device.
You retain ownership of all content you create in the App, including trip logs, notes, and photos. By syncing content to our cloud service, you grant us a limited license to store, transmit, and display that content solely to provide the service to you across your devices and at currentfishing.com. We do not share your content with other users, advertisers, or any third parties for marketing purposes. Content is stored on hosting providers (such as Supabase) acting as our data processors solely for the operation of the service.
The App and Website provide fishing conditions data from third-party sources including Apple WeatherKit (iOS App primary), Open-Meteo (Website primary; iOS fallback), the National Weather Service, USGS Water Services, NOAA NWPS / NWM (flow forecasts), NOAA Tides & Currents, the Water Survey of Canada (WSC), Centre d'expertise hydrique du Québec (CEHQ), the California Data Exchange Center (CDEC), and AI-generated content. While we strive for accuracy:
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and in accordance with local fishing regulations. You are responsible for obtaining required fishing licenses and following all applicable laws.
The App, including its design, content, and branding, is the property of Terence James Smith. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse-engineer the App or its content.
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the information provided will be accurate or complete. Fishing is an inherently variable activity — conditions change, fish are unpredictable, and no app can guarantee results.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Terence James Smith shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to reliance on fishing conditions data, lost trips, or equipment decisions based on App information.
Always exercise caution when wading, boating, or accessing fishing locations. River conditions can change rapidly. The App's flow and weather data should supplement — not replace — your own judgment and local knowledge. Never enter dangerous water based solely on information from the App.
We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which Terence James Smith operates.
